Editor, viewer and split view
Write in plain Markdown, read the formatted result, or keep both side by side.
Three ways to look at a note
| Mode | Shortcut | Use it to |
|---|---|---|
| Editor only | Ctrl+E | Write without distraction |
| Split view | Ctrl+Shift+P | Write on the left, see the result on the right |
| Markdown viewer | Ctrl+P | Read the formatted note |
The buttons for the three modes are at the top of the window. Click a note in the folder tree or card view to open it in the editor; double-click opens it in the viewer.
Saving
Notes save automatically 1.2 seconds after you stop typing. Ctrl+S saves right away. Every save writes to a temporary file first and then replaces the note, so a crash can't leave a half-written file.
Rename, move and delete
Click the title above a note to rename it — the file name and the title in the front matter change together. Use Move to another folder to file it elsewhere. Delete moves the note to .trash/ in your workspace, so you can always get it back.
